The Cup

The cup

Endows rhythm

To flesh

And bones

Its fingers

Tickle the body,

While lips

Swish its wine

Then a glance,

And a skirmish

Adhere

Eye to ear

For the sound

Of soul

Singing a melody

Of Silence

So that mystery

And mystique

Of dreams

Deferred

Are launched

With the lure

Of bread

Gone wild

In the desert

Where scarcity

Prepares the

Banquet.
